2021 Ford F-250 Super Duty Overview
The 2021 Ford F-250 hit showrooms with only minor changes from the last model year, as it's in the middle of its cycle, but it's still a leader in configurations, technology, power, features, and performance. It starts with your choice of three different engines.
The basic 6.2-liter V8 matched with a 6-speed automatic transmission puts out 385 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. A 7.3-liter V8 that generates 430 horsepower with 475 lb-ft of torque is matched with a 10-speed automatic. Finally, the 6.7-liter turbo-diesel that generates 475 horsepower and a whopping 1,050 lb-ft of torque is also mated to a 10-speed automatic.
From there, you can choose from three cab configurations: the regular, the SuperCab, and the crew cab. Finally, you can choose a 6.75-foot or an 8-foot bed. All F-250 trucks are rear-wheel drive, but 4-wheel drive is an option for every model in the line.

The F-250 comes in six different trim levels to customize your features. There's the base XL, the XLT, the Lariat, the King Ranch, the Platinum, and the Limited. At the base level, you get technology like a USB-C port, Wi-Fi hot spot, and vehicle remote services.
By the time you reach the top level you add things like the Ford SYNC® infotainment system with Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® integration and touchscreen interface, household-style power outlets, enhanced 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, keyless entry, remote start, massaging seats, and more.
Hauling, Off-Road, and Towing Capacity
The F-250 has three packages that are geared towards getting off-road and towing. These offer features like trailer tow camera systems, Pro Trailer Backup Assist™, top-down 360 view cameras, hill descent control, underbody skid plates, locking and limited-slip differentials, upgraded suspension systems, and special Trail Control™.
These features are spread among the Trailer Tow High Capacity, FX4 Off-Road Package, and Tremor Off-Road Package. When properly equipped the F-250 can tow a maximum of 20,000 pounds. There's almost nothing this truck can't haul.
Safety Features
The F-250 doesn't skimp on safety it can be outfitted with all the active intelligent safety features you want. These include blind-spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, lane departure and lane-keeping features, and adaptive cruise control at various trim levels, to help keep you alert and safe on the road.
